Cheesehead

Well, I warded off the evil cookies for a day. A whole day! Today was not as successful though. I hate being healthy. It used to be so easy! Ten years ago I would have a bagel and a diet coke for dinner and now Jason makes me dinners with things like the word gratin in it. I looooove gratin. And I miss it so. (And it's only been a week and a half!) So I lost three pounds the first week of my new get-Tracey-in-Springtime-shape regimen, which is good, but now this week I think I will be happy if I simply haven't gained it all back. Have I mentioned that I hate being healthy? I totally lied to the State of Wisconsin when I filled out my height and weight for my new driver's license last week. I don't want to be a liar! (No, I didn't tell them that I was six feet tall. That's ridiculous!) What is it with Americans that we celebrate every gathering with food? My dad and my brother came up to visit on Sunday and we went out to the neighborhood Italian place. Mmmmmm. That's my problem. I'm just too darn American.

  1. That is VERY true, about getting together for food. Every time I come back to Rockford, I call up friends to meet for breakfast, then another friend for lunch, then another for dinner, then to my families, more and more and more food. What I loved about our trip to Europe and mostly, Morocco, is that you can just relax, and have tea. I love that. I need to make a HUGE effort to do that here, but it's so hard when everyone seems like a huge food pusher!
Three pounds though, that's terrific! I worked out 5/7 days last week and didn't lose anything! Frustrating! I guess I'm not doing it right!

  2. Brandi- We could so totally hang together. Why do you live so far away? And why did we not hang out in high school? I'd have to brush up on my 90's hip-hop music first though. I guess we'll just have to wait until the reuinion. 96!

  3. I know! I was thinking that the other day? I guess we didn't have any classes together? I can't remember!
But yeah, I do live too far away, I have random thoughts of moving back there, but we'll see...
And yes, you would have to brush up on your hip hop skillz, and I would have to learn some other genres. :)

  4. I know how you feel! I was doing realllly good and lost a couple pounds, and then my girlfriends decided to order pizza tonight during LOST. Once the floodgates are open, we're doomed!

  5. Hey Tracy,
I've lost something like 46 pounds since I was at my heaviest (which was about the time I concieved Ava). I am 5'0" and got as high as 156 pounds and now linger between 110-113. I would be happy to share with you some yummy foods that get me through the cravings, especially pizza! I typed it all up and emailed it to a friend that was requesting my ENTIRE regimen, so it's more info then you'll want but if you want the foods I go for let me know and I'll foward it to you too and some good recipes too.

  6. Rhobin- That sounds great. I really need some new ideas to stay motivated. My problem is that I just don't have any good recipes or a real regimen. I just eat next to nothing for a while (which works) but then I fall off the wagon! Not the best.
    Thank you!
You're only five feet tall? You're so tiny!

  7. Do you just want me to copy and paste that email I sent to her on here? Or do you want to email me your email? That's how I got started with the weight loss, with the last 20 pounds anyway, I starved myself....not to lose weight but just stressed out too much and didn't eat. Then I got to running and now I work out 6-7 days a week and eat 6-7 meals a day! It feels really good. I just had surgery so I can't go back to the gym any time soon and I'm having a bit of cabin fever. The gym has become my daily ME time. Anyway, I'm always happy to help a fellow blogger ;-).
