Heartless

What's all the business with the Republicans trying to attack John Kerry's Purple Hearts? I don't understand how they are totally behind a person who got out of going to war by joining the National Guard (apparently showing up just enough times to collect paychecks and teeth cleanings) but they have the nerve to trash a Kerry's medals because they think that maybe his wounds weren't severe enough? I'm sure he really asked the Viet Cong to put shrapnel in his body just so he could parade around his Purple Hearts thirty years later during his presidential campaign. I'm sorry. I think anyone who goes to war deserves a medal because I know I couldn't do it in a million years. I think it's completley disprespectful of them to all veterans- not to mention the thousands of troops we have in Iraq and Afganistan.
